Sleep

Getting a good nights sleep is so so important.








I am a worrier and an over thinker with a difficulty to find the 'off switch' at night. I have recently been trying to get a much happier and healthier night time routine to help me drift off. Granted I don't do all of things very night but combined they really help to calm me down and help me sleep.
This was inspired by a This Works gift set my mum got me for Christmas which contains the pillow spray and body oil. Both really help to de stress and smell amazing.

The first thing I like to do is make sure my bedroom is tidy (as it can be) and smelling relaxing. I purchased an atomiser from amazon for around £15 after wanted a muji one for £45. I just use lavender oil and creates a really lovely smelling space. This is totally down to personal preference so choose whatever essential oil or blend you like. Then I run a bath.

Up until recently I was using a Eucerin scent free bath oil for my dry skin with a few drops of lavender oil - I still do this most of the time but once again my mum came to the rescue with the Therapie Himalayan Detox Salts (thanks momma). They smell beyond relaxing and add a little fanciness to my some what simple bath cocktail.

I really try and stay in the bath for at least 20 minutes before I get bored. I usually use this time for my last bit of phone scrolling or youtube watching. Including setting my alarm as this 20 second phone exercise left me back on my phone for half an hour plus when in bed.

I use the this works body oil just on my chest and arms - again the scent really helps to relax you especially as I have just poached myself resembling a nearly cooked lobster.

This is the time I really try and stay tech free. No phones allowed. Clean pjs on it's time to read.

This is something I have really struggled with but again I do find it really helps. I am currently reading The Girls by Emma Cline and so far so good.

I think it's important to de stress in whatever way you find works but no matter how different we all are my one piece of advise would be get off your phone. If you need to shoot aliens, race stolen cars, read that latest blog post or watch a makeup tutorial do it before 'bed time' once you start that wind down enjoy it.
